If it is extremely low again, have your mechanic take a look before driving it much more. If you notice that the oil level in your C230 is extremely low or empty, fill it up and check it again the next time you drive. Renew the gasket if dried out (I probably would anyway). Remove engine part of belly pan, drain oil, drop lower oil pan, replace sensor, clean pan, reinstall.

If the oil in your C230 is dirty or smells like gasoline, you probably need an oil change. gregs210 said: IIRC it is very straight-forward.

In addition to checking the oil level, you also want to look at the condition of the oil when you have the dipstick out. Otherwise the dipstick will read slightly low. Turn key to position 2 (radio and heater/AC fan turn on). Be Parked on level ground and have car stationary for at least 5 minutes. Make sure your engine is cold when you check the oil in your C230. 2004 c230 kompressor oil level in mm how to#
The video above will show you how to check the oil level in your 2005 Mercedes-Benz C230 by taking an accurate dipstick reading. Because you don’t have a dipstick, you have to do this verification from inside, from the multifunction display in the instrument panel.

What i feel is the last time (exactly a year ago) i did the oil change, i filled 6 liters, that couldve been the source of this problem. We’ll show you how to check the oil level on a Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe (2 door version), year 2004-2008, with the 1.8-liter petrol engine (C230 Kompressor) and 192 hp. If you have an oil light illuminate in your C230, this means your oil pressure is either high or low. I measured the oil that was drained (4.5L) and i added only 5 litres instead of the 5.8 recommended by service manual drove about 5-10km to see if the dash computer warned of low oil level and it did not. Note that most Mercedes-Benz have an oil pressure gauge next to the speedometer - this gauge does not tell you what your oil level is, but rather uses an oil sensor to indicate the oil pressure in the engine. Checking the oil in a C230 is fairly easy and should be done once a month.
